PTE SELT tests for UK visas and citizenship

PTE Home A2: for extending an existing A1 visa

The PTE Home A2 test is for anyone who is already living in the UK and needs an extension to their A1 visa.

PTE Home A2 is the right test for you if you want to extend a visa for ‘Spouse/partner’ or ‘Parent of a dependent’ after 2.5 years, and you need to certify that you can communicate in English at CEFR* level A2.

How will I be tested?

To take a PTE Home test you will need to attend a secure Pearson test center. You will use a computer and headset to listen to, read and answer questions. The PTE Home A2 test has 30-33 items and lasts up to 25 minutes. There are 3 question types:
