PTE Trial – Spring 2026 FAQs

For this research study we require people to take a PTE trial test during the testing window from April and May 2026.

We are looking for a range of test takers of various ages, genders, nationalities, and people with varying levels of English language proficiency.

After completing the PTE Trial Test, you will receive a gift voucher worth the equivalent of $100 USD in your local currency. The voucher can be used at a variety of different online vendors in your country such as Amazon, Google Play etc.

Please note: Participants in this research study can receive a maximum of two gift vouchers. This applies even if they have taken more than two PTE Trial Tests.

You must follow all the requirements outlined in the terms and conditions in order to receive your reward. You will receive your voucher when the project ends, in June. The voucher will only be sent to the email address connected to the account that was used to book the test.

Testing will take place between April and May 2026. You can take the PTE Trial Test in any official test center in Australia or India.

1. Complete the sign-up form with your details.

2. A member of the PTE team will review your answers to check if you are eligible. If you are eligible, we will send you instructions on when and how to book your Trial Test.

Participants will be taking a trial test similar to PTE Academic. Because this is a trial test, participants will not receive scores or score reports for this test.

If you participate, you should familiarise yourself with the various PTE Academic tasks which can be found on the PTE Academic test format page. You should be willing to do your best when you take the test.

A person’s current level of English does not matter as we need participants of all different levels, so beginner, intermediate or advanced English speakers are welcome to participate.

1. Complete the sign up form to register your interest in taking part.
2. If you have never taken part in a PTE Trial Test or PTE Research Study before, the PTE team will create a new myPTE account for you (Note: If you have previously taken part in a PTE Trial Test or PTE Research Study then you can use the same account as you used in the past and you do not need to wait for any further email from us).
3. If you are selected, you will receive a welcome email notifying you of your acceptance into the research with a link to access the new myPTE account (if needed) and instructions on how to proceed.
4. Follow the password reset steps. Please note: The password reset email may go into a junk or spam folder.
5. After resetting the password, log into your new account and complete the booking of the PTE Trial Test. Please ensure that the personal data you submit when booking your test exactly matches your identification.
6. You will need to select your preferred test center, test date and session time within the testing period and also complete your account profile.
7. We will send you a booking confirmation email after your test has been scheduled. 

If you have an existing myPTE account that you have used for booking official PTE tests (not research or trial tests) you cannot use this account for this test. We will need to create a new account for you using the alternative email address you provided us on the registration form. Please ensure you have regular access to this alternative email address as we will send you various communications (including your reward voucher) via this email address.

If you have previously taken part in a PTE Trial Test or PTE Research Study then you can reuse the same alternative account that you created for that study. You may be asked to go through the password reset process for your alternative account.

If you are having difficulty booking your PTE Trial Test, please contact the PTE Help Team by completing this online form. Our team will be in touch within 3 to 5 days of receiving your enquiry. 

The PTE Trial Test can be taken in any official PTE test center in Australia or India. The PTE Trial Test is booked by using a unique link that will be sent to people who are invited to participate in the study.

The PTE Trial Test takes a maximum of 1 hour and 50 minutes to complete. You will need to arrive at the test center at least 30 minutes before your test to complete the test check in process.

When we have confirmed you have completed the PTE Trial Test, you will receive your reward voucher when the project ends, in June. We will send your voucher to the email address that you used when booking your test, so please check your inbox frequently and remember to look in your junk and spam folders if you think the voucher has not arrived.

No. If you participate in this research you will not receive a PTE score or a Score Report. Your PTE Trial Test responses will only be used for internal Pearson research and development purposes.

Please disregard this notification as there are no results available for the PTE Trial Test.

To receive your reward, you must:

• Follow instructions and ensure you take the PTE Trial Test before the end of May 2026.

• Complete the PTE Trial Test and attempt all test questions to the best of your ability. This means you should take your time, attempt all test questions and behave in an appropriate manner in the test center.

• Complete the test authentically with original and relevant responses, as explained in the instructions set in the test questions.

• We reserve the right to withhold any reward if any tests have been completed in a dishonest manner or if we identify evidence of duplicate research study or trial test accounts.

You will receive your reward voucher when the project ends, in June. We will send the voucher to the email address that was used to book the test.
