New Pearson VUE Centers to increase local choice for PTE Academic test takers

To make it easier for those seeking to study abroad, or to migrate, several new test centers are being launched across India which will deliver PTE Academic.

The first in Bangalore, Hyderabad, and Chandigarh have recently opened for testing with more to open during August 2018. The launch is in line with Pearson’s goal of increasing the reach of PTE Academic centers across India and providing easy access to a globally-recognized, fast and reliable English language proficiency test for immigration and study abroad.

Commenting on the launch of the new center, Vikas Singh, Managing Director, Pearson India said, “We constantly strive to enhance our services and continue to expand our test center network to give PTE Academic test takers greater choice. These new centers will expand our reach across India and enable test-takers easy access, more local convenience and additional test dates in our expanded test network.”

PTE Academic is a computer-based language test and is gaining immense popularity for its accurate and impartial scoring. To ensure test score validity all PTE Academic test centers use state-of-the-art and industry-leading security measures like digital biometrics incorporating palm-scanning, secure paperless results, randomized test formats, and CCTV, thereby ensuring aspirants test in a controlled and highly secure environment.

PTE Academic for study abroad and migration

PTE Academic is accepted by universities and colleges around the world including by Harvard Business School, Yale University, INSEAD, and London Business School.  It is accepted by 100% of Australian and New Zealand universities and by a growing number in the USA, UK, Canada, Ireland, Singapore, and Germany.

The test can also be used for all Australian Department of Home Affairs and Immigration New Zealand visa and migration applications.

  • Pearson and IHE collaborate to support international students

    Pearson Advances English Language Assessment with Enhanced PTE Test

    LONDON: 10 July 2025 – Pearson (FTSE: PSON.L), the world’s lifelong learning company, today announces enhancements to the Pearson Test of English (PTE), bringing new advances in secure, accurate, and trusted assessment.

    Starting in August 2025, PTE Academic will introduce two new speaking tasks: “Respond to a Situation” and “Summarize a Group Discussion”. These additions precisely assess how test takers communicate in real-world situations, demonstrating key skills needed for academic and professional success.

    The scoring model is also being enhanced, with advanced AI working alongside human experts to better detect copied or unoriginal responses.

    To help test takers perform at their best, Pearson has introduced new preparation resources tailored to the enhanced PTE Academic, including scored practice tests, PTE expert courseware, test taker webinars, and video content.

    Trusted fundamentals remain

    The core features of PTE remain: it is fully computer-based, primarily AI scored, and delivers fast results, typically within two days. The test continues to be trusted by more than 3,500 institutions and millions of learners worldwide.

    Growth in global test center network

    PTE’s secure test center network continues to expand worldwide, with 30 centers opened so far in 2025, bringing the total to 517 locations. New openings across Canada, China, Australia, India, Vietnam, and 12 other countries are supporting growth in key migration and study abroad markets.

    Pearson Partners with BorderPass to Support Aspiring Students and Professionals in Canada

    London, UNITED KINGDOM: 8 May 2025 – Pearson (FTSE: PSON.L), the world’s lifelong learning company, has announced a partnership with BorderPass, a Canadian lawyer-backed organization dedicated to streamlining the immigration process for students and skilled migrants.

    Pearson and BorderPass are working together to make it easier for Canadian migrants to prove their English language skills. The Pearson Test of English (PTE) will be integrated into the BorderPass platform, allowing for fast and seamless verification of test scores.
