BOSSA and Pearson partner to help PTE Chinese students bound for US & UK

London, August 23, 2021 9 AM: BOSSA, China’s international education industry association, and Pearson, the world’s learning company, today announced a partnership to help expand the availability of PTE Academic to the growing number of Chinese students preparing to study in the US and UK.

BOSSA (the Beijing Overseas Study Service Association) plays a critical role in student recruitment and services by helping set the standards for China's study abroad consulting industry. BOSSA and its affiliate association, COSSA (the China Overseas Study Service Alliance), consist of approximately 300 member companies that are responsible for recruiting and advising approximately two-thirds of all Chinese students studying abroad each year.

The new partnership will enable Pearson to provide its secure and trusted English tests to BOSSA’s vast network of education recruitment agents, schools, and students.

The collaboration will support education agents across Greater China to provide Chinese students and parents with updates, advice, and guidance on English language learning and testing to help them access the world’s leading Higher Education Institutions and achieve their study goals in the UK and the US.

PTE Academic is accepted by over 1000 institutions in the US, including Harvard Business School and Yale, as well as 99% of Higher Education Institutions in the UK, including Oxford University, UCL, and Manchester University.

Freya Thomas Monk, Senior Vice President at Pearson PTE, said: “We’re really excited to partner with BOSSA, to meet their membership, and to work together in the international education sector in China.

“Our Pearson tests of English are fast, fair, and convenient. By working together, we believe we can offer greater choice and opportunity to the ever-growing number of students in China who wish to work, study or come to live in the US or UK.”

“Pearson PTE offers several distinct advantages to hopeful Chinese students planning to go abroad,” said Jon Santangelo, BOSSA spokesperson. “They have testing locations in China's top cities and offer a swift and seamless end-to-end user experience, from booking to releasing results. And preparation for the PTE creates an academic advantage in itself. We think students and education agents alike will welcome PTE as a viable alternative to other English-language qualifying exams.”
