Are you booking PTE for the first time? Do you know which of our PTE tests is right for you? No worries, we will guide you through the booking process.

Here is a step-by-step guide to booking your PTE test:

To begin, click on ‘Book a test’

  • To find the right PTE test for you, first select answers to “Where do you want to go” and “What do you want to do there?” For example, perhaps you want to go to Australia to study.

  • We’ll then recommend a test for you.

  • To book the test, click on ‘Check availability & book’.

Now it’s time to find an appointment at a test center

  • First, enter where you’d like to take the test.

  • We’ll then provide a list of available test centers. Choose a center and select a date and time at least 24 hours in advance, then click on 'Book'.

  • To continue with your booking, you’ll now need to create a myPTE account. This is where you’ll manage your test appointment and results.

To create a myPTE account, you will need to enter your personal or account details

  • Make sure your details exactly match your valid passport. Does your passport include any middle names? If yes, you must enter your first name and your middle name(s) in the ‘Given names’ field.

  • VERY IMPORTANT: You will need to present your passport at the test center when you take your test. If your account details do not match your passport, you will not be allowed to take the test and will not be eligible for a refund. If needed, you can correct your account details up to 3 days before your test. It is not possible after that, nor on test day.

  • Don’t have a passport? Check our ID policy to find out if you can use a different form of identification.

  • After filling out your details, click on ‘Create account & continue booking’. Your myPTE account will be created.

The final step is to complete your booking

  • Select your answers to a few booking questions.

  • Agree to PTE policies (Admission, Reschedule and Cancellation).

  • Pay for your test. You can pay with American Express, Discover, Mastercard or Visa. If you have a voucher or promo code, now is when you’ll enter it. For information on fees, check out our PTE test centers and fees

  • Finally, review your test appointment details and payment information, then click on ‘Submit Order’.

That’s it! You will have booked your PTE test. Your test details will appear in your myPTE account, and we'll send you an email with all the information.

All the best!

Convenience matters: how to pick an English test that works for you
    By PTE Author

When your schedule is packed and deadlines are approaching, choosing an English test that works around your life can make all the difference. You need a test that fits your timeline without creating extra admin, travel, or waiting around.

A convenient English test isn’t just “short.” It’s a test you can book quickly, take in a way that suits your life, and get results fast while still meeting the requirements of your university, employer, or visa pathway. PTE is designed around that real-world need: fast, fair, and simple.

Five practical questions to guide your choice

    Before you book, ask yourself:

    1. Will my score be accepted where I want to apply?

    2. How easy is it to book a test date that works for me?

    3. Can I take the test in a location that fits my life?

    4. Is the test design simple and intuitive?

    5. How long will I wait for results?

Use these questions to compare your options and choose a test that fits your timeline, not one that forces you to change it.
