PTE Home English tests

Your PTE Home test result is securely – and automatically – shared with the UK Home Office through the Secure English Language Test (SELT) reporting system.

You will receive a unique reference number (URN) with your test result. You should then include this URN with your visa application, so the UK Home Office can verify your result directly. 

This secure process helps ensure that the test results that UK Home Office receive are authentic and reliable. 

You must bring a valid, acceptable form of identification to your PTE Home test. In most cases, this will be a valid passport. Your ID must:

• Be original (not a copy)
• Be valid and not expired
• Match the name and details used in your test booking

Check the PTE ID policy before your test to make sure your identification meets our requirements.

PTE Home test results are valid for two years from the test date.

If your result expires, you will need to take the test again before using it for a new visa or immigration application. Always confirm the latest requirements with the UK Home Office, as immigration rules can change.
