Anticipating widespread use of PTE Academic, the National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN®) conducted a standard-setting study in November 2009 to establish a PTE Academic minimal passing standard, as related to entry-level nursing practice. The NCSBN Board of Directors has endorsed the results of this and has set an overall passing standard of 55 with no individual section below 50 for entry-level nurses. A technical brief is
